....My Iraqi informant.......

...Well Sir...as a retired Detective Sergeant...I still continue to make informants wherever and whenever I can...well...un-beknownst to y'all I have an exclusive informant inside Iraq that sends me information and pictures that even the Fox netwurk media don't get.....

Here is a picture he took of the "Special" bomb that we were a savin just fer Abu Masab Al-Zarqawi when we were sure he was in a certain location or anuther...and this folks..is an actual photygraf of the bomb that got Zarqawi.....

...Just luv's it....dontcha all agree....?

HatTip to:...Myrons Mind Meanderings ......

....and...he not only sent me this spectacular...and still"Classified" photo of our great military pyrotechnique abilities but...he has also managed to get an EXCLUSIVE photo of Zarqawi's successor.....

...Thats right...this informant is so deeply placed that I can now show the wurld.... for the first time anywhere...an actual photygraf of the person who will takin the place of the now deceased..."Big Z". It is said that she is cunning, ruthless, unforgiving and "tricky"...and it is believed...that fer the first time anywhere in the Muslim wurld...a woman will be in charge of a terrorist insurgant organization......Here she is..."Mini Z" (as she is affectionately known to her Muz-buddies.) You can even see the evil in her eyes cain't ya....?

...My Flight with "Diamond LiL".......

Well Sir...the day I had looked forward to with great anticipation finally arrived....my flight on an actual World War II, B-24 Liberator.....

As I stated in my earlier post...I've always had an intense fascination with these old war birds...especially the B-24, B-25...and the B-17, the 17 being my favorite....

Now Sir...I'm not a big fan of Digital camera's...don't trust em...and with good reason...but...one of my wonderful Daughter's...Shellie...loaned me her camera and gave me a...excuse the wurd.."crash" course on just how to use it...and aside frum the fact that most of the inside shots didn't come out cause the "Auto" feature....I did manage to get a few pix of my flight into the past.....

Now Sir...this here is a photygraf of yurs truly...and I look like most Vietnam era vets...a beard, long hair and a big old pot belly...figured I'd say it afore Mr. Fits frum "Shooting the Messenger" said it.....

...as y'all can see it pretty overcast and of course the damned digital had no way of using "fill-in" flash...and hardly wurked at all inside the plane...but I'll show ya what pix I did get. I was the Director of Photography for the Crime Lab I once wurked fer...and as I'm sure y'all noticed...I'm NOT keen on digitals...give me a good old fashioned 4 X 5 Graflex or a good 35mm...with real film in em...and I'll be a happy camper...

Now sir...this here next photygraf is a taken from the back of the plane lookin forward....now...I know'd fer sure that I've really put on a bit of weight when one a the crew told us all that after gettin airborn...we could wonder round the plane...then he looked at me and said...cept you...if you go to the back of the plane...make sure no one else is there...that would be too much weight and might cause control problems (asshole I muttered under me breath)....coulda said that to me privately.

Its of interest that an old gentleman (in the white hat) who was sitting next to me with his 2 grand-daughters with him was real interested in the plane and was cryin a might.....

So...I asked him if he was familiar with these old war birds and he pointed up toward the front of the aircraft...pointed to a small opening under the pilots cockpit and through the nose landing gear of the plane...said to me..."I was bombardier in these planes during WWII...wow...I was impressed. Turned out that his granddaughters had surprized him with this flight and this was the first time in a B-24 since 1945...you could almost see the memories flooding back into his keen mind......

...and of course this is lookin up inta the cockpit......

...Now Sir...this next photygraf is of the famous Syracuse University Dome...lotta games and shows been put on there...and if you follow college B'Ball or football...you've seen this afore. The pilot first took us over the City of Syracuse for a tour and then headed north...up inta my section of the woods. Again...we had a very low ceiling this day and the picture is somewhat clouded over by a misty rain and low clouds......

...Now...this next picture is of some very distinguished....even if slightly over-weight and ugly...passenger wearin a Cowboy hat that was on the flight. Turns out he writes a blog that has somethin t'do with cookin and humor (and sometimes goes on a rant or two.) I happen to know that he has a real keen interest in these beautiful bombers...and he started flyin J-3 Piper Cubs when he was 12 years old...crashed one too...but that's a story, or post... fer a later time.....

...Well Sir...I been wrestlin with Blogger all day just tryin to put this post up...but it seems that Blogger is havin some sort a server hissy-fit and the photygrafs and such just aren't comin up or publishin like they should.

I thought it was just me at first but I've had some phone conversations with other bloggers and they be a tellin me that it's Blogger...no surprize...but what d'ya want fer free.....

Now Sir...since Blogger is havin problems...I'm just gonna put up what photygrafs I can.....

...but first..to answer sone comments left on my first post about "Diamond LiL"...Missy Buster...yur right on the nose...my wife is indeed a very thoughtful person having gotten me this flight fer Fathers Day...course...I wish she hadn't used MY credit card to book it....

...and John Artz had said there is nuthin sounds as sweet as four(4) Radial Engines purrin like big old Kitty cats (ceptin fer the submarine diving claxon)...and he's right...what a great sound...

...course Sig 94 thought I might lose my "cookies" on the flight...sorry to disappoint y'all mate...Cookie kept his Cookie's.......

...Now Sir...this here is the lake I live on...Oneida Lake...right in the heart of Central, New York...Pataki country...land of Taxes.....

...and in this is a picture of two of the islands in the Lake...Frenchman's Island and Dunham's Island......

...back at the turn of the century (1900)...there was a huge hotel for the "Rich and Famous" on Frenchman's island (on the left in the photo)...but a great fire destroyed the hotel and all the associated industries and support business's that went with it......

...Now...this old boy grew up in the lower part of the picture...right near the islands. Some of the best Walleye and Perch fishin yur ever gonna find is in Oneida Lake. Every year we got some large Fishin Tournaments that bring folks frum all over the country to compete.....

...the lakes got a history also...some battles in the French & Indian War and the Revolutionary War were fought in this area....the movie "Drums Along the Mohawk" was about a battle fought about twenty miles frum what yur a lookin at right now.....

...and finally....touchdown.....what a great day...Cookie.....

...and now..."The Rest of the Story" .....

Article borrowed frum Patrick, WTR, and Fits.....and the Lead-In frum Paul Harvey.......this is what the MSM won't go near....

Some respected folks have asked that the following letter to a Connecticut newspaper from Marine infantryman Anthony Ippoliti currently serving in Fallujah, be given blogspace:

Jun 2, 2006"

I am fortunate enough to receive The Ridgefield Press every few weeks and enjoy keeping abreast of the local issues currently pressing in our small town. I am a U.S. Marine Infantryman currently serving in Fallujah, Iraq, and my mother usually includes The Press in the many care packages she sends me.

Since we have very limited access to telephones, The Ridgefield Press is the primary means by which I receive local news.

Almost every week, I open The Press and find an article or letter to the editors denouncing the coalition effort in Iraq. Invariably, the individuals behind these anti-war letters and rallies mask their political agendas by asserting that they "support the troops but not the war."

People like Vince Giordano, Paul Sutherland and Anne Stubbs are pictured in the April 13 edition of The Press carrying a yellow-ribboned coffin and signs that say "Bring Them Home Now." They read off the names of the dead and claim to "show support for our troops" while urging lawmakers to "bring them home." They believe that the U.S.-led coalition should never have entered Iraq and that the current effort is a never-ending quagmire that has made no progress. They believe that things are progressively getting worse and think that our forces should just pick up and leave.

They do all this under the pretense that they are supporting the troops. However, what they are really doing is using our lives and the issue of our safety and well-being as a means to achieve a political end.

My primary concern is the assertion that these individuals support the troops in Iraq but not our mission. It boggles my mind that this logic is actually utilized on a large scale.

Supporting the troops but not the war is like saying that you support filmmakers but not making films. One cannot claim to support an individual in a given profession but not support what the said profession entails. This is essentially a slap in the face to those in the service.

How protesting the job we are doing in Iraq while demanding our withdrawal constitutes supporting us is beyond me.

Furthermore, I am particularly interested in how these people support us, specifically. I have never once received a letter from an individual who claims to "support the troops, not the war." Not a single Marine I know has received anything that could be considered remotely supportive from any of these people or the groups they represent. We have received phone cards, hygiene supplies, food, etc. from members of state and local government, radio stations, schools, private individuals and organizations, but never once from any group claiming to "support the troops, but not the war."

I ask again: How can these groups claim to support our troops while telling us that what we are participating in is wrong?

How can they support us if they are essentially saying that our blood and sacrifices have all been given in vain?

How can they support us if they say that our comrades and brothers who have been wounded or killed in action have done so for a hopeless and morally questionable cause?

I reply to the questions I pose with a simple answer: They can't. As a matter of fact, I assert with a considerable degree of confidence that their efforts make our already difficult job even more difficult. I'll go so far as to say that their rallies and protests cost more and more servicemen their lives and limbs every day.

I support my assertion with evidence gathered first hand. I see the Iraqi people every day. The protesters do not. I speak with the Iraqi people every day. The protesters do not. I don't sit behind a desk and do paperwork or resupply efforts in the military. I am an Infantry Marine and I walk the sewage-filled streets of this city every single day.

In Fallujah, the people watch Al Jazeerah. However, they also watch CNN. A lot of them fear that the United States will soon cut and run. The people of Iraq see when our country is divided. When they see rallies to "Bring The Troops Home," they see that as a sign that we will end our efforts prematurely.

Furthermore, they know that the insurgents will not end their efforts early. That leads them to the conclusion that when we leave, the insurgents will still be there. Therefore, if they help us, their lives and the lives of their loved ones will be in great jeopardy the minute we leave - if we don't finish the job.

Much that they see on American television leads them to believe that we intend to abandon our efforts before the new Iraqi government is capable of defending itself and its citizens.

The actions of these aforementioned organizations and the heavy media coverage their rallies often generate serves as fuel for the insurgency. Insurgents believe they can drive us out through the idea of "death by a thousand cuts." The longer they persist in their efforts, the more the American public becomes disenchanted with the coalition effort.

The insurgency sees this as a result. These criminals will continue to kill Iraqi civilians, Iraqi Police, Iraqi Army and coalition forces so long as they see that their efforts are alienating the American public from its military.

And for those of you that aren't up to speed with the situation in Iraq, the insurgents attack and kill established public services (such as Iraqi police and Iraqi army) more often than they attack coalition forces. As a matter of fact, an explosive-laden insurgent blew himself up last week outside the Iraqi police station that is attached to our compound.

The insurgents aren't fighting simply to drive America out of Iraq. They are fighting to destroy any semblance of the Iraqi government so that they can impose their will on its people.

Publicly protesting our efforts in Iraq fuels the insurgency. Doing it under the pretext of "supporting our troops" is disgraceful.

Let me now emphasize that I respect an American citizen's right to voice his or her opinion in a public forum. Such a right is granted in the U.S. Constitution.

However, voicing one's opinion in such an irresponsible way is something I do not support. Additionally, using deployed service members as a mask to serve your purely political purpose is downright shameful. If your desire is to protest the war, then protest the war, but don't use me or any reference to our troops as a tool to bolster your purpose.

I'll summarize by saying this: Organizations such as The Ridgefield Coalition to Stop the War do not support our troops. No matter what they say or what is printed on the signs they carry, they effectively do the opposite of support us. They downright hurt us.

Such organizations damage the morale of the men and women in the armed forces and progressively cause them to believe less and less in the mission at hand. The conditions here are difficult as it is. Opening a month-old edition of The Ridgefield Press and reading an article about an anti-war demonstration that uses our troops in an effort to mask its true cause doesn't help.

Please do not feign support while effectively telling us that we are fighting for an unworthy cause. I think I speak for an overwhelming majority of our troops when I ask organizations like The Ridgefield Coalition to Stop the War to discontinue using Marines, soldiers, airmen and sailors as a means to serve a political end.

You are neither supporting us nor honoring us. You are doing the exact opposite."

This comment is by "Fits" at Shooting The Messenger"....."Politicians and liberals will stoop so low as to use gravemarkers to get attention, Anthony, and they care not what fallen heroes they stand upon to be heard. Been there, had that happen before, son, and all any of us can do is our job and let the rest of the world abide until the smoke clears a tad. You CAN count on some people however, and we'll cover your back."

...and I echo this statement to the letter......Thanks You Anthony for your service to our country and to the Iraqi people who seek Democracy........Cookie....

....."Diamond LiL"...here I come.....

Well Sir...ever since this old nuts been about 7 or 8 years old...I've had a real fascination fer WWII aircraft...especially the Bombers...all bombers, B-17's, 24's,25's,26's, 29's and 36's....

Now...in our Sunday paper this week was an article about how the B-24 Liberator Bomber, "Diamond Lil" was payin a visit to the nearby Syracuse International Airport and would be open fer tours and flights. She was born in 1940 and was sent to England for bombing missions over Germany in WWII.

These beautiful, well designed Aircraft were responsible in part for the defeat of Nazi Germany and the Axis powers.

Now Sir...I made arrangement with the wife for us to go over to the Airport and sorta just tour the plane...kinda expressin my wish that I could take a flight in this old gal...after all...we are about the same age. The wife just laughed and said "ya...like we could afford that". The rides are quite expensive....So I says..."Ya...but it's tax deductable cause its a Charity organization (which it is)". She just laughed and told me to "dream on"....said I don't need another woman in my life...I've got her.

Well Sir...today I was just about to start writin my post fer today when the phone rang...and the caller ID said "B-24 and B-29". What!... thinks I...am I seein things? So...this Cookie answers the phone and its the headquarters for "The Commemorative Air Force" and they wanted to confirm my "Flight Status" fer tomorrow...and that I would be at the Airport at 2:15 for a 3:00PM flight. So...by now y'all figured it out that my wonderfull, loving wife had secretly bought me a flight on a World War II bomber...the grand lady..."Diamond Lil", B-24 Liberator.....

Needless to say...I am now like a kid at Christmas time, or an old Marine Gunnery Sergeant (who happens to have a blog called "Shooting the Messenger") who cain't wait to play with a brand new military "Mini-Gun".....

So folks...y'all can just be guessin what tomorrow's post is gonna be about. If'n I can get some pix...I will. It won't get up till late cause the flight is at 3:00PM...but I'm sure once the sexual hormones and adrenalin subsides...I'll be able to put somethin together bout this airborn adventure......Cookie....

...Uh Oh...tomorrow is...666....

Now Sir...as y'all know...tomorrow's date is 6/6/06...and some folks suspect its gonna be the end a the wurld. Now Sir...if'n y'all believe that...then this will probly be m'last post...now if'n the wurld don't end...yur all stuck with me and my hopefully humorous bullshit fer a long spell...at least as long as the good Lord lets me stick around........

Till that time...either tomorrow or God only knows when...here's a pic or two frum my neighborhood.....

M'neighbors dog...Beauregard...he calls em Bubba fer short....Bubba's got a little problem and they's thinkin a sendin his ass to Rehab......

Well Sir...this next photygraf is a nice pic of Harley's well trained Huntin Dog...Beau. Harley calls him Bubba fer short...says when he calls Bubba...both his dogs come a runnin...makes it easier that way it duz.....

Well Sir...thats about it...I had some more real great photygrafs fer ya but Blogger seems t'be actin up t'day...so...if'n the wurld don't end tomorrow....be seein y'all then....Cookie....

...Just a naggin question....

Just a nagging question that has been botherin this here Cookie fer a spell.....

...I ascribe to ...K.I.S.S........

....Like many people...I like to follow the premise of K.I.S.S....Keep It Simple Stupid...we've all heard of this....but many don't practice it...especially politicians. Another adage that I've always thought very highly of is an old Japanese proverb that says..."Fix the Problem...Not the Blame"...makes alot of sense don't it......

Here's an example of practicing these concepts......

Everyone concentrates on the problems we're having in this country
lately - illegal immigration, hurricane recovery, wild animals attacking humans in Florida.

Not me. I concentrate on solutions to problems. The result is a
win-win-win situation:

- Dig a moat the length of the Mexican border

- Use the dirt to raise the levies in New Orleans

- Put the Florida alligators in the moat.

Any other problems you would like for me to solve today?
